DETAILS

  • Approximately 4.5" diameter x 6” height
  • Holds approximately 43 oz.
  • Raffia netting is not removable.
  • Variations will occur with the handle. Some pitchers may feature a woven handle and others will not.
  • As with all handmade items, variations will occur.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Do not use in the microwave or dishwasher. Hand wash only. For regular maintenance, rub gently with a damp cloth and a few drops of mild soap. Let air dry naturally or dab lightly with a dry cloth.

Artisans at Chabi Chic work hard to preserve a tradition that has been passed down through generations and that is facing competition in today’s environment with automated mass production. The pottery is hand-molded and hand-painted from the beginning of the process until the end. The artisans use recycled glass to make the collection of glassware. The beautiful bags are handwoven using sustainably sourced materials. For the woven glassware, artisans carefully braid and weave raffia fibers and blow on the glass to create its unique shape. I stalked this pitcher for nearly a year, wondering if I should take the plunge or not. Well, I finally did and I'm so happy with it. First off, it feels wonderful to be able to support artisans directly through the little market instead of a big catalog store! The pitcher holds enough for a batch cocktail and a generous amount of ice, and as an added bonus I didn't notice any sweating of the pitcher! Haven't used it outdoors yet, but it seems the woven cover serves as a natural "koozie" and keeps the pitcher from sweating. Win-Win!

It should be noted that the weaving on mine actually comes up much higher than pictured, but I actually like that more! The weaving on mine comes up to the bottom of the pour spout. Just be aware that since it's handmade, it might look a little different than the photos, however I think that's what makes it extra special.
