This position oversees the growing sales operations for the organization. They work closely with leadership to set goals for each sales program, including corporate gifting, design trade and wholesale. They design plans to meet goals and lead the sales team in delivering exceptional service to clients. The Director of Sales is also responsible for cultivating new business opportunities and developing relationships with clients and major accounts.


  • Manage and oversee the sales team and sales operations within the organization
  • Design plans to meet sales targets, develop and cultivate relationships with clients and evaluate costs to determine their products’ pricing when selling to customers
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets
  • Create and communicate sales goals and ensure C-level executives are informed on the progress of those goals
  • Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with clients while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs
  • Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes
  • Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals
  • Report on forces that shift strategic directions of accounts and tactical budgets
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication across all departments, keeping the executive team informed of critical issues
  • Support sustainability and eco-conscious solutions across all aspects of the organization
  • Participate in Director level leadership meetings to execute on vision, mission, and organizational development strategies
  • Team Management
    • Lead the sales team with an outcomes orientation
    • Manage and coach marketing team members to goals, outcomes, and growth opportunities
    • Serve as a bridge across the organization to help break silos and develop an inclusive culture
    • Continually strengthen the sales team’s internal processes for strategic planning, communication, implementation, and analysis


  • Passion, knowledge, and interest for fair trade and women’s rights
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in sales management
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Creative and innovative thinker who is self-motivating
  • Comfortable handling and digesting a large amount of real-time data
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and planning skills – able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • A high degree of professionalism, ethics, passion, industriousness, and a can-do attitude.
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Helpful and positive attitude toward customers and employees
  • Flexible work schedule (i.e. nights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 25lbs of product from one location to another
