Ecommerce Associate

FULL-TIME | santa Ana, CA or Santa Monica, CA

This position must be a highly motivated, strategic-thinking individual who is passionate about building a community of support to advance our organization’s work in fair trade and social justice. Responsibilities include assisting with creating content for our website, production, editing, managing automated emails, customer service responsibilities, and more.


  • Write, coordinate, and publish site wide meta title, descriptions, and alt tags including all product and collection pages.
  • Write all product descriptions and details, and work closely with the product, artisan, and marketing teams to ensure all copy meets branding guidelines.
  • Support the Ecommerce and Marketing Department in building product pages (including new product skeletons, templates, and bundled products), merchandising website collection based on insight and feedback from Product Strategist, and adding upsells and cross sells products to applicable web pages.
  • Communicate story and launch updates to the marketing, product, and warehouse teams.
  • Update collections, shipping deadlines, widgets in new menu, and landing page details for marketing campaigns.
  • Assist in creating and coordinating production, publication, and maintenance of content for the website, including, but not limited to, images, banners, copy for web pages, product pages, collection pages, landing pages for marketing campaigns, and homepage.
  • Assist and provide feedback on all aspects of product merchandising, including product naming recommendations, categorization/hierarchy in the menu, filters, swatches, detailed technical specifications, effective visual presentation and customer pathing.
  • Process web maintenance requests and assist with incorporating website feedback.
  • Support post-production photo edits (i.e. candle labels, tote bags, etc.) to prepare for usage on site; upload on site; communicate and collaborate with photographer(s) to receive and ensure photos are properly saved and organized.
  • Update product pages by (un)publishing pages, re-ordering variants, and adjusting links based on product inventory provided by Product Strategist and Warehouse Department.
  • Create and review analytics reports and web traffic to optimize site promotion performance and improve onsite shopping experience, and increase conversion.
  • Create custom shipping reports.
  • Provide support to designers on candle label production for online personalization requests, as needed.
  • Create marketing UTMs (email, social, referral).
  • Set up and send marketing emails (UTMs, ALT titles, Email Name).
  • Create widget/product suggestions for on a monthly basis, working closely with the Marketing Department.
  • Create and update Amazon product pages as needed.
  • Manage Google Locations and listings for all store locations.
  • Work closely with the Ecommerce Team to ensure the new site build is easy to use and functional for customers based on customer inquiries.
  • Research and assist in implementing app functionalities based on needs.
  • Assist with customer service as needed, including email and chat monitoring and responses, and/or privacy concerns.
  • Minimum requirement of assisting the warehouse team 3 days per year with miscellaneous warehouse tasks and order fulfillment, including transporting product as needed.


  • 1+ years of relevant experience in ecommerce, graphic design, web production, marketing, or other related field.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Creative and innovative thinker who is self-motivating.
  • Comfortable handling and digesting a large amount of real-time data.
  • Possesses communication skills along with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and planning skills – able to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Excited to work in a fast-paced and energetic environment.
  • An ability to learn and communicate about fair trade and social responsibility concepts.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.

  • Flexible work schedule (i.e. nights, weekends, and holidays).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Interest in fair trade and women’s rights.
