INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY / PANELS / Centering Marginalized Voices

Actress and activist Jane Fonda leads a conversation with two incredible activists, Mónica Ramírez and Allie Young, about how the Latinx and Native communities have been affected by COVID. They talk about the importance of communities being able to tell their own stories and how communities of color must be at the table where the decisions are being made so that they can shape their own futures.

It is no coincidence that these communities also experience human rights barriers in accessing healthcare, education, and housing. Their voices and experiences have been marginalized from decision-making and their needs have not been recognized or met in key policies and laws.

People’s eyes are being opened, really for the first time, about the extent of the inequality in this country. And they are prepared to fight to do something about it.
