The Little Market is a non-profit organization founded by women to empower women. We sell fair trade, ethically sourced products made by artisans in over 25 countries around the world. We are looking for highly motivated, passionate individuals who are interested in gaining experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, product development, and fair trade. Graphic Design Internship

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

The Little Market is looking for a highly motivated, creative individual who is interested in gaining experience in digital marketing and graphic design, as well as learning more about fair trade and social justice.

This internship will primarily focus on: designing and developing high-quality, engaging graphic communications for print and digital channels; creating new content for website and blog; organizing and editing photo; and collaborating on e-newsletters and email marketing campaigns.

Interns are asked to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week spread over two to three weekdays for a minimum of three months during our hours of operation (Monday through Friday with availability during 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.). Start dates are flexible; we have internship openings throughout the year, and we accept applications on a rolling basis.

This internship is based out of Santa Monica, California, or Santa Ana, California.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Well-organized, self-motivated, and reliable with a strong interest in graphic design
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, internet applications) and familiarity with social media
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Creative and innovative thinker who is self-motivating.
  • Comfortable handling and digesting a large amount of real-time data.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills along with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and planning skills – able to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • A high degree of professionalism, ethics, passion, industriousness, creativity, and a can-do attitude.
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced and energetic environment.
  • An ability to learn and communicate about fair trade and social responsibility concepts.
  • Helpful and positive attitude toward customers and employees.
  • Must bring own electronic devices (i.e. mobile device, laptop computer, etc.).
  • Flexible work schedule (i.e. nights, weekends, and holidays).
  • Interest in fair trade and women’s rights.

 

Interns must be enrolled as students for the duration of the internship term.
