The Little Market is a non-profit organization founded by women to empower women. We sell fair trade, ethically sourced products made by artisans in over 25 countries around the world. Join our team to help empower artisans in marginalized communities so they can build a brighter future for themselves and their families. Graphic Design Internship

DESCRIPTION

The Little Market is looking for a highly motivated, creative individual who is interested in gaining experience in social media and digital marketing, as well as learning more about fair trade and social justice.

This internship will primarily focus on: developing and implementing social media strategy across multiple channels; researching industry trends and monitoring campaign performances; and supporting marketing needs related to launching new products.

  Interns are asked to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week spread over two to three weekdays for a minimum of three months. Start dates are flexible; we have internship openings throughout the year, and we accept applications on a rolling basis.


QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated, and reliable with a strong interest in graphic design. Please note the following requirements: proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, internet applications) and familiarity with social media. Please list any relevant design experience on your resume.

Interns must be enrolled as students for the duration of the internship term.

Photography Internship

DESCRIPTION

The Little Market is looking for a highly motivated and creative college student, with a sharp eye for detail, who is interested in gaining experience in photography for e-commerce and digital marketing, as well as learning about fair trade and social justice.

This internship is supervised by the Web Experience Manager and will primarily focus on: photographing products for e-commerce promotion, operating photo equipment, editing photos for various uses, and updating them on the website.

Interns are asked to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week spread over two to three weekdays for a minimum of three months. Start dates are flexible; we have internship openings throughout the year, and we accept applications on a rolling basis.


QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should be well-organized, have a positive work ethic, and be reliable with a strong interest in gaining experience in retail-specific photography. Photography, Lightroom, and Photoshop experience is a plus.

Interns must be enrolled as students for the duration of the internship term.

Translator Internship

DESCRIPTION

The Little Market is looking for a highly motivated, multilingual individual who is interested in gaining experience in communication facilitation through translation and live interpretation, as well as learning more about fair trade and social justice.

The internship will primarily focus on: facilitating discussions during meetings, phone calls and via written communication; providing strict renditions of the messages, employing clear enunciation, pronunciation and polite forms of expressions; upholding the correct rules for grammar and syntax in both languages; and reading through original material and rewriting it in the target language, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained.

Interns are asked to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week spread over two to three weekdays for a minimum of three months. Start dates are flexible; we have internship openings throughout the year, and we accept applications on a rolling basis.


QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be able to demonstrate written and verbal proficiency in both English and a foreign language (see list of desired languages below).
