Uniting around racial healing, justice, solidarity, and joy
Uniting around racial healing, justice, solidarity, and joy
OUR COLLABORATION
We collaborated with one of our favorite musical artists and activists, MILCK, to create limited edition tote bags, designed by MILCK herself, and custom candles in honor of her songs “Somebody’s Beloved” and “I Belong.” This partnership supports the Black Mamas Matter Alliance and the Asian Women’s Shelter, respectively, which are beneficiary organizations of the Somebody’s Beloved Fund. The Somebody’s Beloved Fund works to create a community around racial healing, justice, solidarity, and joy through an intersectional lens of feminism, Black-Asian solidarity, AAPI support, LGBTQ rights, criminal justice reform, and mental health.

MILCK x empowering women
For each candle purchased, 50% of the purchase price will be donated to the Asian Women’s Shelter, an organization dedicated to eradicating domestic violence by promoting the social, economic, and political self-determination of women. It addresses the needs of women, children, and transgender survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, with a focus on supporting immigrant, refugee, and U.S.-born Asian women and their children.
Each candle is hand-poured by women refugees in the United States.
MILCK’s latest single, “I Belong,” declares that each of us not only inherently belongs in the United States of America, but also to one another.
She wrote “I Belong” as a song for healing and due to her desire for everyone to feel like they belong, no matter their background. It has blossomed despite the rise in hate crimes against Asian American-Pacific Islanders.
MILCK x Black Mamas Matter Alliance
For each candle and tote purchased, 50% of the purchase price will be donated to the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, a Black women-led cross-sectoral alliance empowering Black women. They center Black mamas to advocate, drive research, build power, and shift culture for Black maternal health, rights, and justice.
Each candle is hand-poured by women refugees in the United States, and each tote is handcrafted and screen-printed by artisan women in Bangladesh. They feature lyrics from “Somebody’s Beloved.”
