In and around the capital city of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, artisans working with Sammy Ethiopia preserve skills from one of Africa’s most ancient civilizations. Sammy Ethiopia works with community organizations and cooperatives while connecting artisanal and generational skills with a modern style for a global audience. The artisans are able to maintain the history of Ethiopia’s weaving traditions while also working in a safe, collaborative environment and earning fair wages.
