The Little Market is a non-profit organization founded by women to empower women. We sell fair trade, ethically sourced products made by artisans in over 25 countries around the world. Social Media Coordinator

DESCRIPTION

The Little Market is looking for a highly motivated, creative individual who is interested in gaining experience in social media, copywriting, graphic design, and marketing. Working as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment, the Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for planning, creating, and posting content across multiple social media platforms. This position will use social media marketing technologies and tools as a means to engage supporters and bring to life the stories of our products and the artisans we work, and raise awareness about fair trade and women’s rights.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Acts as social media community coordinator for multiple channels, including Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Works as part of a small team to develop social media strategy and campaigns.
  • Creates all graphics and captions for social media channels.
  • Monitor and engage with relevant accounts.
  • Respond to user inquiries on social media channels.
  • Supports creative content for the blog through graphics, copy, and content collaboration.
  • Ensures that social media planning is in line with organizational marketing strategy and overall priorities.
  • Monitors analytics and performance, and creates reports to communicate trends and make strategy recommendations.
  • Keeps current on industry best practices and periodically evaluate methods and make recommendations for new opportunities.
  • Develops creative strategies that expand the organization’s reach.
  • Supports special events and photo shoots as needed.
  • Drives support of organizational campaigns and events through social media strategy.
  • Oversees social media collaborations.
  • Assist with graphic design for social media.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office including Excel.
  • Graphic Design and Social Media Analytics experience preferred.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Motivated, professional and flexible with the ability to react quickly when the need arises.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills managing multiple deadlines.

Graphic Design Associate

DESCRIPTION

This highly motivated, creative individual will be working with in-house graphic design, and marketing. The Graphic Design Associate will assist our Graphic Design Team on a variety of projects, mostly focusing on printed branding collateral, store signage, catalogs and line sheets, and custom orders. This position will carry out print and typography designs to ensure a cohesive and polished brand presence primarily with physical printed materials that our customers experience first-hand. These printed materials serve as a means to engage supporters and bring to life the stories of our products and the artisans we work, and raise awareness about fair trade and women’s rights.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Focuses on print and typography designs.
  • Supports, and works alongside our in-house graphic designers on multiple projects.
  • Ability to carry out existing designs across many platforms maintaining brand consistency.
  • Directs team on what projects are priority.
  • Communicates with printers and vendors efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Understands the details and knowledge needed for printed materials (CMYK vs. RGB, image resolution, paper weights, setting up print-ready files, etc).
  • Ensures that custom orders are maintained and designed in a timely manner.
  • Designs layouts and compositions for printed collateral.
  • Creates typography treatments and graphics for use on multiple channels, including printed collateral.
  • Keeps track of updates needed on catalogs, line sheets, and look books.
  • Supports creative content for the blog through graphics and content collaboration.
  • Keeps files organized & shared with other design team members.
  • Supports email marketing, digital marketing and web design as needed.
  • Minimum requirement of assisting the warehouse team 3 days per year with miscellaneous warehouse tasks and order fulfillment, including transporting product as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Illustrator required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • A high degree of professionalism, ethics, passion, industriousness, creativity, and a can-do attitude.
  • Familiarity with social media and design.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.

Seasonal Warehouse Associate

part time | SANTA ANA, CA

DESCRIPTION

This position must be highly motivated, hardworking Seasonal Warehouse Associate. Responsibilities include performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock and other.

Hours of operation: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and occasional weekends during the holiday season. Schedules may vary based on availability and needs of the business.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Welcome delivery trucks.
  • Receive, unpack, provide the numbers for adding to inventory, and track shipments.
  • Pick transfer orders.
  • Accommodate and carefully handle fragile merchandise.
  • Track and document exact shipment arrival and departure times.
  • Tag, label, and stockpile merchandise according to size, shape, and type.
  • Box, wrap and pack merchandise in accordance with The Little Market’s procedures and quality standards.
  • Print pick lists, pick product and prepare all orders for shipment including packing and shipping online customer orders and store deliveries.
  • Record and manage all impaired or damaged merchandise items.
  • Operate adequate merchandise management tools (for example, ladders, pallet jack).
  • Enter data in inventory and logistics software programs.
  • Conducting bi-annual inventory counts and inventory spot check audits.
  • Assist as needed for wholesale and corporate account fulfillment.
  • Helping to keep the warehouse clean and organized.
  • On occasion, build fixtures and office furniture as needed.
  • Collaborating regularly with cross-functional teams to contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures.
  • Assist with driving and deliver orders, as needed (i.e. Fedex, store location, pop up events, etc.)
  • Support Warehouse Operations as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion, knowledge and interest in fair trade and women’s rights.
  • 1+ years of relevant warehouse experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License, for possible deliveries or product transfers.
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced and energetic environment.
  • Helpful, can-do attitude and positive team player with great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem solver, self-motivated, and self-starter with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Strong organization and planning skills – able to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Hands on experience with inventory and logistics software programs.
  • Flexible work schedule (i.e. normal business hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; as well as nights, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to move/ lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Great physical stamina and endurance.
  • Requirement for standing long periods of time.
