The Little Market is a non-profit organization founded by women to empower women. We sell fair trade, ethically sourced products made by artisans in over 25 countries around the world. Community Leader

The Little Market is looking for a highly motivated, strategic-thinking individual who is passionate about building a community of support to advance our organization’s work in fair trade and social justice. The Community Leader is responsible for a multi-faceted engagement and development program including overseeing communications and engagement of our Council, events, fundraising, corporate sponsorships, and public relations. This is a full-time position based out of our Westwood Office.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing our committee network, collectively known as the “Council”, and supporting efforts to recruit and engage members, and develop a strategy around programming, education and engagement.
  • Develop and oversee quarterly strategic plan to engage TLM’s broad community of partners, supporters, individuals, etc. and develop specific goals and objectives for each quarter; identify top priorities for partnerships, collaborations, and events.
  • Planning events that engage our supporters, and the greater public, with the intention of educating, raising awareness about fair trade. Working as part of a small-team to execute.
  • Creating programs and speakers series that resonate with target audiences, including developing concepts, selecting speakers, writing remarks.
  • Fully developing and overseeing the execution of collaborations and campaigns--including messaging, media strategy, and specific objectives--that engage like-minded organizations, charities and individuals with public profiles.
  • Specifically overseeing charity collaborations, including overseeing agreements, marketing materials, execution, planning and implementation.
  • Helping to create, maintain and utilize a robust database of committee members, supporters, customers, and potential foundation and corporate sponsorships.
  • Working with cross-functional teams to develop marketing materials and assets to support various initiatives.
  • Shaping communication and developing strategies, to motivate participation and increase public awareness.
  • Supporting Co-Founder in cultivating individual relationships, identifying annual strategies, and ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up and engagement.
  • Work closely with the Community Associate on maintaining a CRM system, supporting the Council, implementing follow-up strategy, developing marketing materials and executing events.
  • Managing and growing strategic partnerships with charities and brands.
  • Build relationships with influencers, celebrities, philanthropists.
  • Evaluating opportunities for co-branding and collaborations.
  • Overseeing gifting strategy and managing thank you gifts for partners.
  • Organizing and executing high level events to raise brand awareness and feature products.
  • Minimum requirement of assisting the warehouse team 3 days per year with miscellaneous warehouse tasks and order fulfillment, including transporting product as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years experience in development, supporter engagement, and marketing.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate donors and volunteers in person, on the phone, and in written materials.

Ecommerce Manager

This position must be highly motivated, strategic-thinking individual who is passionate about building a community of support to advance our organization’s work in fair trade and social justice. This role will be responsible for for the day-to-day operations and promotion of the DTC and B2B website to ensure significant and sustainable business growth. This is a key role that will partner with many departments — Sales, Marketing, Creative, Product, Web Development — to maximize traffic, conversion, retention, and revenue opportunities. We are looking for a detail-oriented problem solver, with a customer first mentality that will help extend The Little Market brand in the ecommerce space.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead research, strategy, plan and execution of ecommerce business development.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive ecommerce analytics dashboard — ensure reporting supports the business needs and provides actionable insights for the organization.
  • Review daily performance of the ecommerce business to make real-time adjustments to optimize sales, traffic and conversion.
  • Oversee day-to-day ecommerce site operations, including the supervision of the Studio Photographer and Ecommerce Assistants to ensure product photography, product pages, collection pages, marketing pages, and all other web content supports the marketing and product plan.
  • Creatively look for ways to increase AOV and customer retention through product recommendations, up-sells, cross-sells, tagging, gift bundling, etc.
  • Partner with Marketing, Creative, Retail, Sales and Product to ensure customer touchpoints have consistent messaging on the site as across all other channels and improve user experience.
  • Partner with Customer Service and Warehouse to set a high bar for customer experience — processing time, order resolution, response rates, website updates, and customer service responses.
  • Lead transactional and post purchase trigger email strategy, development, and production.
  • Optimize existing website content and identify new opportunities. Work closely with Marketing to advise in the development of content for the execution of growth strategy.
  • Process, prioritize, and delegate all website issue tickets to ensure problems are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Partner with the Web Developer on resolving issues, app recommendations, user experience projects, and website development projects from inception to QA testing to implementation.
  • Manage existing Shopify Apps and make recommendations for future Apps.
  • Develop project schedules and budgets based on the business’s goals, scope of work, and available resources. Compare options and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Minimum requirement of assisting the warehouse team 3 days per year with miscellaneous warehouse tasks and order fulfillment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of relevant management experience in ecommerce, marketing, or other related field, and experience managing teams and working with outside agencies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or other related field.
  • Willing to travel to our Santa Ana Office location once per week.
  • Must have 2+ years experience with Shopify or Shopify Plus.
  • Must have knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Must have direct to consumer ecommerce experience, with B2B and omnichannel experience preferred.
  • Be data driven, analyze data quantitatively & qualitatively and use customer research, data and metrics to back up assumptions and identify opportunities.
  • Hands-on experience and technical proficiency with, web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Understanding of how user funnels work, what KPIs matter and how to impact them.

Warehouse Associate

DESCRIPTION

This position must be highly motivated, hardworking Warehouse Associate. Responsibilities include performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock and other. Hours of operation: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This position is based in Santa Ana, California.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome delivery trucks.
  • Receive, unpack, provide the numbers for adding to inventory, and track shipments.
  • Pick transfer orders.
  • Accommodate and carefully handle fragile merchandise.
  • Track and document exact shipment arrival and departure times.
  • Tag, label, and stockpile merchandise according to size, shape, and type.
  • Box, wrap and pack merchandise in accordance with The Little Market’s procedures and quality standards.
  • Print pick lists, pick product and prepare all orders for shipment including packing and shipping online customer orders and store deliveries.
  • Record and manage all impaired or damaged merchandise items. Operate adequate merchandise management tools (for example, ladders, pallet jack).
  • Enter data in inventory and logistics software programs.
  • Conducting bi-annual inventory counts and inventory spot check audits.
  • Assist as needed for wholesale and corporate account fulfillment.
  • Helping to keep the warehouse clean and organized.
  • On occasion, build fixtures and office furniture as needed.
  • Collaborating regularly with cross-functional teams to contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures.
  • Support Warehouse Operations as needed.
  • Assist with driving and deliver orders, as needed (i.e. Fedex, store location, pop up events, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of relevant experience warehouse experience preferred. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Valid Driver’s License, for possible deliveries or product transfers. Hands on experience with inventory and logistics software programs.
  • Great physical stamina and endurance.

The Little Market is looking for a driven and talented Web Developer to join our team. This person will work directly with the Ecommerce Manager and Web Designer to continue to improve our website, as well as build out additional features to deliver a sustainable product that supports both The Little Market business and brand.

This is a full-time position based in Westwood, CA.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Modify and update existing Shopify and Wordpress sites to further improve UI/UX.
  • Build, implement, and test new website features.
  • Test and optimize site for desktop, mobile, cross-browser compatibility and SEO.
  • Deliver properly-tested, organized, bug-free code, on-time.
  • Develop and manage custom Shopify apps and integrations.
  • Solve internal problems creatively, effectively and efficiently.
  • Make recommendation on new functionality to improve the website and blog site.
  • Communicate effectively with end users, design team, and management.
  • Continually optimize sites for speed and latest responsive and mobile design techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS
