Based out of Canton, Mississippi, Musee Bath is a social enterprise dedicated to alleviating poverty by creating sustainable job opportunities. The organization has developed an environment of self-dignity, where everyone feels loved and empowered. Musee Bath supports second chances for individuals, generally between the ages of 20 and 60, who have endured various hardships; the team consists of individuals recovering from addiction, individuals in reentry programs, people with disabilities, and survivors of domestic violence.
Musee Bath provides a supportive and encouraging work environment, access to general and higher education, and finance training. The social enterprise also prioritizes the personal well-being of each team member by offering leadership opportunities, life skills training, access to transportation, housing, and counseling services, and health and hygiene programs. With a commitment to giving back to its community at-large, Musee Bath supports fellow social enterprises and funds a school in Haiti, directly supporting uniforms, meals, school supplies, and teachers’ salaries.
Artisans at Musee Bath practice a unique technique to create each of these bath bombs by hand. The raw, high-quality ingredients are hand-mixed in small batches within the studio. Eight team members collaborate to complete each recipe, task by task. This intricate process must be conducted precisely based on the recipe, with the mixing and combining of the ingredients serving as a cross between art and science. Each bath bomb is set to air-dry for a 24-hour period, and seven team members finish the bath bomb with custom packaging.
