COLLECTIVE HUMANITY
Located in: Cambodia
Collective Humanity is a community-based social enterprise empowering socially and economically underserved women. Artisan women, whose ages range from 20s to 50s, have the autonomy to work from home in open air studios while simultaneously balancing their family responsibilities. They have access to skills and resources including household finance training, community development workshops, healthcare programs, community cleanup days, and recycling education programs. In a sustainable process, each throw is naturally dyed with ingredients that are oftentimes harvested from the land close to the studio. While preserving beautiful, labor-intensive techniques, the artisans weave the throws together through a rare art form that is traced back to a rich history in Cambodia.

This throw is lightweight, soft, and beautiful. I got it to replace a well-loved cotton throw that had begun falling apart. Perfect for the couch and love that it’s machine washable.
