Laundry never looked prettier. This woven storage solution will beautifully contain your clothes, linens, toys, and more.

Located in the tri-border area of Tanzania, Burundi, and Rwanda, artisans practice an intricate weaving and coiling technique that is traditional in the Hangaza culture. This social enterprise works with women who have settled back into their home countries, refugees, resettled individuals, and Tanzanian hosts of refugees. They master a generations-old technique with sustainably sourced materials including locally harvested grass. Through dignified work, artisans can increase their crop yield, support their children’s education and health, better their independence and quality of life, and earn fair wages.

  • Large: Approximately 17" in diameter x 18" tall
  • Materials: Locally harvested star grass, locally sourced papyrus, and recycled grain sacks used for colors
  • With the beauty of handmade, small-batch items, we celebrate that no two pieces are exactly the same. Please note you may notice variations in size, color, and design.

  • Caution: Avoid contact with water to prevent molding.
  • Spot clean using minimal water. Dab (do not rub) using an undyed paper towel or cloth to prevent the colors from bleeding. Prolonged contact with liquid and moisture could lead to molding. Allow to dry completely. To preserve the natural colors and stop fading, do not place in direct sunlight.
